Ecological pyramids
Ecological pyramids are graphical representation of trophic structure and function in ecosystem. In ecological pyramid, producer level constitute the base of the pyramid and the successive levels make the apex.

Pyramid of number
It shows the number of individual at each trophic level.

It shows the biomass accumulated in individuals at each trophic level.

Pyramid of energy
It shows the total amount of energy transferred at each trophic level. Here, Sun is the ultimate source of energy on earth. At each trophic level, only 10 % of the accumulated energy is transferred as each successive trophic level. Rest of the energy is utilized in respiration and reproduction. It is always upright
